Bio: Robyn Macey

About

Robyn grew up in a musical family and was first introduced to the piano at age four and a half by her father. Her mother taught her voice and was often signing in at an early age in church.

She has been teaching piano at Church of the Good Shepherd since 2009. She began teaching through the After School Program at Episcopal Day School is 2022.

Her teaching philosophy is to bring joy to her students through music. Her goal is not to make a student into a concert pianist but to share them the skills necessary to be able to bring enjoyment to them through playing the piano. They receive a well-rounded curriculum that includes technique, theory, and method books. Classical pieces are introduced, and later other styles are introduced such as jazz and pop.

Robyn is a graduate of Davidson Fine Arts School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Augusta University. Her teachers include her father, Donald Macey, Ms. Artemis Thevaos, and Vola Jacobs.
